On Saturday 6th July, over 40 members of staff from Pioneer Educational Trust, made up of Foxborough Primary School, Upton Court Grammar School and Trevelyan Middle School, undertook a marathon walk from Richmond to Windsor to raise money for three charities chosen by the students who attend their family of schools.
Students from each of the schools chose to support The Rainbow Trust, Mind and Crisis and have to date raised over £2,400.00 for the three charities.
The walk was a huge success with CEO Antonia Spinks explaining, ‘A key part of our vision for 
our Trust is to invest in others and what better way than through undertaking an annual charity challenge – and this year’s challenge was certainly not for the faint-hearted. Through this year’s challenge, we have invested in charities who support seriously ill children and their families, those living with a mental health problem and those who are homeless living in the UK. I am very proud to work with such caring and charitable people’.
The challenge was sponsored by the Buckinghamshire Freemasons, the Hounslow COPD Group and Windsor based technology company, Winshaw. Their sponsorship provided t-shirts and a unique finish line for the walkers. The designs for these were created by students from Foxborough Primary School and Trevelyan Middle School. At the end the walk, the team were cheered in at Windsor Rugby Club with aching limbs and sore feet but elated to have completed the event and raised so much money for the three charities.
