I have been an English teacher since 1997 and have held a number of managerial roles, both academic and pastoral. I moved into a SENCO role 8 years ago and am privileged to lead a team of SENCOs across my academy Trust and liaise with others in the local boroughs, to improve the outcomes for children. I also lead the Pupil Premium strategy which gives me further insight into how we support our most vulnerable pupils and families.  More recently I have taken on the oversight of Safeguarding and Pupil Welfare, and am enjoying the extra dimension this brings to my role from learning more about these areas to collaborating with a wider range of colleagues. As a Trust, we have also set up a charity to help support our local community and I am immensely proud to have been involved at the inception of this and to continue in my capacity as a Trustee.  We can truly make a difference when education, other professionals, the community and good will come together.

My inspiration is drawn from a sincere belief that the best society is an equal society.  I am an optimist and work with the belief that we can always strive to do better and be better. Each year, new children come into the education system with the energy, enthusiasm and desire to be all they can be.  We hold their dreams in our hands and they inspire me to make a difference wherever I can.

I look to inspire through driving a moral imperative that we are here to serve the children and families we work with and I am proud to work in a Trust where the moral good is prioritised through the actions of the talented, determined and selfless colleagues in my workplace.  Between us, we cultivate an environment where open and honest collaboration, hard work, and empathy results in improved outcomes for all and ensures that our young people are well prepared for the futures that lie ahead of them.
