‘Our trip to Parliament was very insightful as we were privileged enough to go on a tour of Westminster Palace to see the Houses of Commons and Lords. We also learnt a lot about the history behind Parliament, from the Magna Carta 1215, to the Suffragettes, who won all women over 21 the vote in 1928. Further to this, we also supported primary and middle school children through a workshop, where they learnt more about today’s justice system and evaluated what was right and wrong for themselves. Overall, this was incredibly fascinating, particularly with the focus on the 100-year anniversary of female suffrage.’
