My background stems from sales into performance management and professional development. Having previously worked in fields that have not only provided me with insight into CPD but the design, delivery, and value that greater learning in the workplace can attribute to your self-development, confidence, and potential.

I have long believed that development is paired intrinsically as a driver into not only where you work, but how you work and how you succeed within your role.

Those who continually develop throughout their career, and have strong pillars in achieving their aspirations will lend themselves to being happier, internally motivated, and open to embracing change, challenge, and growth, often striving to better themselves and in turn their impact within their chosen fields.

I believe that given the right set of tools, along with equal measures of support and challenge, everyone is capable of mastering their respective areas and becoming flagship pioneers. To coin the term “if you judge a fish by its ability to climb trees…” you explicitly detract from potential by isolating a single area to measure success and inspire growth.

My journey into coaching began in 2008 when I became an accredited performance coach. This transformative experience ignited my passion for empowering others, guiding them to believe in themselves, and take ownership of their learning journey within the workplace. Witnessing the vast scope of possibilities opened by nurturing a learning culture in the workplace is a passion that continues to drive me to this day.

I further honed my expertise by achieving my Level 5 CIPD in Learning & Development, which has equipped me to further develop our CPDL offering and maintain a strong focus on fostering a learning culture across the MAT.

My journey to the Trust has been an interesting one. Being a mum to 2 children had meant I wanted my focus towards my career to be balanced in equal measures to my focus as a mum. I felt that working in education would provide this balance, and be an area in which I was most able to offer the best of myself in both my work and personal life.

At the trust, you are surrounded by people who have shared goals, a similar mindset, and who want to drive learning forward and lead the way into embedding a learning culture. When you work with such open and driven people, who want to embody change, coming to work every day, even the most challenging of days, is driven by values and beliefs that become as much a part of who you are, as you become a part of the trust itself.

I hadn’t imagined that I would be able to find a role that allowed me to utilise my skills, and give me the balance I sought, but I can honestly say that working both centrally and across the respective schools, I have been afforded opportunities to blend my priorities seamlessly in an environment that challenges me as well as supports my long term goals and progression.

I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of such a forward-thinking, dynamic, and diverse team.
