Intended Outcome / Impact : 

At Pioneer Educational Trust, every leader has an entitlement to professional learning in the form of coaching and feedback. 

As part of the Trust’s drive to create a coaching culture, all leaders are entitled to regular leadership coaching.

The benefits of leadership coaching cannot be underestimated!  Through this coaching, leaders will feel: empowered as their hidden strengths are uncovered; gain new perspectives on their role and situations; open up their thought patterns; improve their communication and connections; enhance performance in ways the leader may not have even considered.

Course Type:

Five hours of leadership coaching provided by on of the following:

  • For Headteachers an external coach

  • For senior leaders a Headteacher in another school

  • For middle leaders a senior leader in another school

Intended Outcome / Impact : 

At Pioneer Educational Trust, every teacher has an entitlement to professional learning in the form of coaching and feedback.  Quality Improvement is DIRT for teachers!  Through our teaching, we model metacognition and feedback; Quality Improvement seeks to provide the same experience for teachers. 

Quality Improvement is a personalised and bespoke development plan for every teacher, the purpose of which is to provide staff with the opportunity to engage in coaching, reflect on and debate the ways they teach, and feel deeply involved in their own professional learning.  Through the QI ‘entitlement’, leaders seek to create a climate in which teachers are motivated and trusted to take risks and innovate in ways which are right for their pupils, exemplifying the Trust’s core values: to pioneer, invest, collaborate. 

Course Type:
  • 90 minutes of ‘lesson observation’
  • 60 minutes of learning visits to other’s classrooms
  • Two sessions of pupil voice
  • 18 hours of self-directed learning

Intended Outcome / Impact : 

At Pioneer Educational Trust, every Teaching Assistant and Higher Level Teaching Assistant has an entitlement to professional learning in the form of coaching and feedback.  Through our teaching and support, we model metacognition and feedback; Quality Improvement seeks to provide the same experience for educational support staff. 

Quality Improvement is a personalised and bespoke development plan for every TA / HLTA, the purpose of which is to provide colleagues with the opportunity to engage in coaching, reflect on and debate the ways they deliver, and feel deeply involved in their own professional learning.  Through the QI ‘entitlement’, leaders seek to create a climate in which TAs / HLTAs are motivated and trusted to take risks and innovate in ways which are right for their pupils, exemplifying the Trust’s core values: to pioneer, invest, collaborate. 

Quality Improvement provides constant learning through:

  • Feedback from a variety of different sources;
  • Marginal gains – the small things that you can do that make a big difference to your performance;
  • Proactive support that is both received and given providing learning to both participants;
  • Review of your performance.
